Baileys trifle. For Gill.
1 large bar of Cadburys chocolate.
2 tins Devon custard
300mls double cream
Maltesers
1 large pkt Maryland cookies ( or 2 small ones).
About a wine glass of Baileys.
Break biscuits into chunks, not too precisely.
Pour over Baileys.
Melt chocolate. In a bowl, mix the melted chocolate with 1 1/2 tins of custard.
In a trifle bowl, put half the soaked biscuits in the bottom.
Cover with half the chocolate mixture.
Put rest of biscuits on top and cover with rest of chocolate mixture.
Add the half tin of custard you had left to the cream and whisk until thick.
Spoon on top of trifle.
To this stage it can be made the day before. Leave in fridge.
Before serving, decorate the top with the Maltesers.

Thank you Kate. The title implied you were making me one and delivering it?
I like the store cupboard ingredients. I’ll let you know how it goes.

If you lived closer, Gill, I would!!
I always feel guilty posting the recipe here as Ace gave it to me many years ago.

My GS, who is now 20, still deems it to be the best dessert in the world and I always make it for the day he is here over Christmas.

There’s chocolate, Malteasers and Baileys to counteract the fruit etc.

I know, sounds good to me!
I’d be in a cupboard somewhere, eating it in secret!
